In Februrary 2007, a then little-known Illinois senator named Barack Obama announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Just months later, Obama for America asked GMMB to serve as a lead strategic advertising firm to help tell Barack Obama's story, communicate his vision and make the potential for transformational change a reality. We had an opportunity to help change the course of history, and so we spent the next 20 months helping to direct strategy, developing and placing advertising, and executing campaign events around the country. And on November 4, 2008, Senator Barack Obama, by a sweeping victory, became the 44th President of the United States of America.
